18th Annual London, Ohio Strawberry Festival Bicycle Tour is “A Go” for June 12, 2021

Pandemic safety plans allow much-loved ride to take place in 2021

May 8, 2021 – London, OhioFMCPT (Friends of Madison County Parks & Trails) in London, OH, has announced that after a 2020 pandemic-related layoff the Strawberry Festival Bicycle Tour is back again for 2021.

The 2021 Strawberry Festival Bicycle Tour actually consists of four different routes: 21-mile, 44-mile, and 66-mile rides, plus a 100-mile “Century Ride.” All rides kick off between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM from the Prairie Grass Trailhead located behind the Madison County Senior Citizens Center at 280 West High Street in London. The courses will wind through Madison, Clark, Fayette and Greene Counties, featuring flat to gently rolling terrain.

Working with the local health department, pandemic safety protocols have been developed to allow everyone to ride safely. Pre-registration (available until June 7th) is only $35 and includes: detailed tour maps, identification number, support services, food stops using pandemic safety measures, a $5 discount on official Tour tee shirts, map and GPS tools including FIT, GPX, and PDF downloads for registered riders, and an FMCPT membership through 2021! Safely pre-packaged food items will be provided at rest stops and include granola bars, fresh fruit, water, and sports drinks such as Powerade or Gatorade. Plus, the 66-mile and 100-mile routes also pass through several small communities where facilities and items are available for your purchase.

IMPORTANT: All registrations received after 8:00 PM, Monday, June 7, including in-person on the day of the Tour, will be $50.00. After 12:00 noon on Friday, June 11, registration will only be available at the sign-in desk on Tour morning, Saturday, June 12 – credit cards, check, money order, or cash.

Founded in 1999, the Friends of Madison County Parks and Trails is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization staffed by an all-volunteer team dedicated to supporting the Madison County Park District and the City of London. FMCPT works to provide superior trail and park experiences for our community and visitors along the Ohio to Erie Trail as it passes through Madison County going from the Ohio River to Lake Erie.
